According to authorities, the crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday when a vehicle traveling on Beacon Road left the roadway, struck a tree, and burst into flames. Emergency responders from the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department and neighboring fire departments rushed to the scene, where they found the vehicle fully engulfed in fire. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze while emergency personnel attempted to assist the occupants. Despite their efforts, both individuals sustained catastrophic injuries. Investigators said the crash involved only one vehicle, and officials continue working to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Butler County Chief Deputy Coroner John C. Hanovick identified the driver as Cody Lee Huffman, 38, of Harmony, Pennsylvania. Huffman was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was identified as T.V. Garrett, 45, of Cranberry. Garrett was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash. According to local reporting, autopsy findings determined that both men died from multiple traumatic injuries resulting from the collision. Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. At this stage, authorities have not announced what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway or whether speed, impairment, mechanical issues, road conditions, or other contributing factors played a role in the collision.
